Job Summary
The Project Manager at McSharry Construction is the "CEO" of their assigned projects. You are responsible for the overall success, profitability, and timely completion of each job. This is a high-level coordination role that requires you to juggle multiple schedules, manage client expectations, and ensure the project remains within the financial guardrails established by the estimating team. You will be the primary point of contact for the owner and the "problem-solver-in-chief" when unforeseen challenges arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project schedules (CPM) and milestones to ensure a clear roadmap for all stakeholders.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, approve subcontractor invoices, and manage "Change Orders" to ensure the project remains profitable.
- Contract Administration: Manage contracts with owners and subcontractors, ensuring all insurance, bonding, and lien waivers are in place.
- Client Liaison: Lead weekly OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings to provide progress reports and address concerns.
- Permitting & Compliance: Coordinate with local municipalities (City of Las Vegas, Clark County) to ensure all permits and utility hookups are handled correctly.
- Team Leadership: Work in lockstep with the on-site Superintendent to align office paperwork with field production.
Requirements
- Professional Experience: 8+ years in Project Management within the commercial or high-end residential construction industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred (significant experience considered).
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage teams and influence subcontractors to meet deadlines.
- Regulatory Savvy: Deep familiarity with Nevada construction law, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Tech Stack: Proficiency in project management software (Procore, MS Project, or Primavera P6).
- Adaptability: Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.
